Chris McKinney is the president and CEO of Sports Careers International, a Dallas-based career-development firm dedicated to helping college students and career-changers break into the sports industry. Properties include Sports Career News, The Sports Career Coach™, The Sports Career Kit™, and Sports Career Training Camp: Basic Training for Breaking Into Sports™.

Mr. McKinney’s experience in the sports world spans nearly two decades and includes work with the NFL, NBC Sports, and the Dallas Mavericks.

Chris’ sports career began during his senior year of college when he launched a sports marketing firm that produced 3-on-3 basketball tournaments and spring break beach volleyball events targeting the college market. Within a few years, companies like Pepsi-Cola, Frito-Lay, and Ray-Ban were lining up to sponsor Chris’ events.

With a real desire to meet the needs of college students, Chris added a publishing division which resulted in two career-related titles, NEXT: The College Guide to Life, and Jobs+ Magazine. He also created a popular workbook and seminar called, "Get Paid For Doing What You Love: 7-Steps to Landing Your Dream Job." Chris has been the guest speaker at several college events including Texas Christian University’s Junior Jump-Start Program and was the keynote speaker at The Art Institute of Dallas graduation ceremony.

Chris is a graduate of The University of North Texas and received a B.A. in Communications and minored in Business Marketing. He also completed a Cox School of Business program at Southern Methodist University.

Chris is married and lives with his wife and two children in the Dallas area where they contribute to their church and several charitable organizations.
